The first rule of sustainability is to align with natural forces, or at least not try to defy them.
Since day one we have protected the environment and upheld sustainable business practices. We look to find ways to recycle, reuse, and repurpose materials that come through our bay doors. As an officially recognized Certifiably Green Denver business, we conserve resources while reducing costs in five areas: energy, water, waste, transportation and business management practices. We’re determined to leave this planet better than when we came.
Cans are the #1 most recycled material in the USA and is the most recycled content of any other beverage container in the world. They don’t shatter as are better-accepted in most environments. Additionally, cans are the lightest weight container, helping us keep shipping and handling costs down.
COMPOSTABLE TEA BYPRODUCT
Our teas are fully compostable and help plants suppress disease with beneficial organisms such as bacteria, yeast or fungi and reduce the need for fertilizers. Our teas help improve plant growth and uptake of nutrients while increasing the plant’s nutritional quality.
LOW EMISSIONS DELIVERY VEHICLE
Flex-fuel Delivery Van. Flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) are designed to run on gasoline or gasoline-ethanol blends of up to 85% ethanol (E85). … However, since ethanol contains less energy per volume than gasoline, FFVs typically get about 15%–27% fewer miles per gallon when fuelled with E85.
WIND POWERED FACILITY
Our manufacturing facility is powered by renewable energy through Xcel Energy’s Windsource Program. With this commitment we are able to meet environmental goals and help achieve LEED certification
ENERGY EFFICIENT LIGHTING
Our facility is equipped with LED Ultra-Efficient Lighting which is 50% or more efficient than traditional tube lighting, has 40% longer life cycle and enhanced light quality while putting out ½ as much heat
REPURPOSED OFFICE MATERIALS
Our office walls are covered in reclaimed wood from pallets that housed large bags of tea and other materials needed for production.
